2008 Syrah

‘New Moon’

Alcohol: 15.4%
pH: 3.90
T.A.: 0.62g/100ml
A.V.A.: Horse Heaven Hills

100% Syrah from Double Canyon vineyard. The fruit was treated the same as the Cab and Malbec, and was harvested on the New Moon in October of 2008. It immediately took on the moniker of New Moon Syrah, well before any vampires were popular. This wine was aged in 100% one year old French Pinot Noir barrels from Archery Summit’s 2007 vintage.

The nose exhibits dark fruit with elderberry and tsatsuma plum with hints of soft vanilla, graham cracker and marshmallow, with savory sweet smoke tones. The mouth is supple and velvety, with round plush tanins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and concentrated.
